I downloaded these files but the Tar is an md5(?) file and so my computer wouldn't open it or Odin.. I downloaded winzip and and it worked on Odin but it is not working on the tar md5 file. It still shows it as a blank sheet on my desktop. So I found my way to Isobuster and tried to open it with that but still nothing.. This is my first time doing a downgrade rom on a phone and I am quite the newbie when it comes to all this computer stuff. Any thoughts? I am worried I will brick my phone
ReplyDeleteAlso, I downloaded kies 3 but that also does not recognize my note 3.. I have the latest version.. Im using a 2.0 USB to connect. Don't know if that info helps or not, but any help I would greatly appreciate! thanks
Deletethanks so much worked perfectly and made it super easy any way to prevent system updates from attempting automatically?
ReplyDeleteThe first comment asks if this works for the N900AUCUDNL1 and someone replied yes. Do you still use the same "Factory Stock ROM 4.4.2" link (it says it's for N900AUCUCNC2)?
ReplyDeleteExcited to possibly "fix" my phone! The video looks great and very thorough.
Is Kevin Quintana still out there? Latest post I could find from him on his page was from mid January. Would really like to do the process on this page to root my Note 3, but obviously a little hesitant. Would like some confirmation that it will work for a N900AUCUDNL1 and that you use the exact same process and files, including N900AUCUCNC2_Full_Odin_Tar.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks!
Does this work on the Verizon version, N900V?
ReplyDeleteHow come after I applied the 4.4.4 with root. It no longer let's me use bootstrap?
ReplyDeleteYou cannot access recovery once you install and flash the rooted 4.4.4. There is a work around for this if you search Google or xda. The workaround consists of using ODIN applying a different kernel accessing the recovery then ODIN again reapplying the correct kernel and booting back into the phone. When the proper kernel is in use safestrap and recovery will NOT work at least not until they make a recovery update for the 4.4.4 which is doubtfully unlikely. The workaround is glitchy works for some and not others. I replied to someone else below in the comments look for the other reply for instructions on freezing att software update via titanium backup. This will unroot your device if the OTA occurs.
DeleteDoes this work for verizon note 3 4.4.4?
ReplyDeleteSeems to be lot's of questions and not many answers. I want to try this on my ATT Note 3 (N900AUCUDNL1), but not sure now. Has anyone done this exact process on this version of the Note 3? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI have the ATT Note 3 and yes it works. Be aware that you will want to use something such as Titanium backup to freeze the auto att software update process once complete to prevent the promoting to update OTA and prevent accidentally auto update ad this will unroot your device if the OTA updates. In addition, you will need to attempt to use the kernel hack with ODIN on 4.4.4 if you want to make a nandroid as once you update the rooted 4.4.4 through recovery as shown in the tutorial you will no longer be able to access recovery in safestrap at least until when and if and doubtfully probably there won't be an update to safestrap recovery for 4.4.4. As I mentioned there is a work around where you use ODIN to swap the kernel to access recovery and then swap the proper kernel back in to boot back up to 4.4.4 however I have not gotten it to work and it seems to be hit or miss for people. You can find the workaround by searching Google or going to xda forums and search for 4.4.4 note 3 recovery workaround. Hope this helps.
DeleteDoes this work for verizon note 3 !! 4.4.4?
ReplyDeleteany one please !!! o.O
Will this work on S4?
ReplyDeleteWork on tab3 t-116nu?
ReplyDeleteI got all the files replaced for the n900v version to at least get back from 4.4.4. to 4.4.2 but Odin is failing with the sw rev check fail fused 4 binary 3 error. I am using the stock NC4 fimware and have tried several downloads, I've tried Odin 3.10 and 3.09 and made sure running in admin and everything checked that's needed. I also made sure my phone has USB debugging enabled and Unknown Sources checked. I've read that I should try a custom rom but assume that with my locked bootloader that wouldn't work either. The n900a has a locked bootloader as well I believe which is why I thought that if I replaced the files with Verizon versions the instructions in the video would work. Any help would be appreciated!
ReplyDeleteAre you checking the MD5 Checksums on the verizon files you are downloading and using for your device? Not sure what else to suggest offhand but if your Checksums aren't matching it could cause problems due to corruption.
DeleteI downloaded the 4.4.2 from your link but it is the file N900AUCUCNC2_Full_Odin_Tar.rar and when I click on AP in odin it is asking for a (.tar, .md5, .smd, .gz, .tgz) file and the one you have for download is a .rar so I can't even place it in odin. Can you help?
